Sixteen-year old Selena Fallon is a dreamer. Not a day-dreamer, but an I-see-the-future kind of dreamer. Normally this is not a problem as she has gotten pretty good at keeping her weird card hidden from everyone in her small town. Except from her best friend Kyle and her grandparents, of course. But when Selena dreams of her own rather bloody death, things get a little too freaky even for her.
Enter Dillan Sloan. Selena has seen the new guy in a different dream, and he is even more droolworthy in person. Beyond the piercing blue eyes and tousled dark hair, there is something else that draws her to him. Something…electric. Unfortunately, Dillan makes it more than clear that he does not feel the same. They just met, so why would he act like he hates her?
When Dillan and Selena are forced together one weekend to work on a school project, Selena prepares to be ignored as usual. But when she stumbles across a few undead in the backyard, Dillan comes to her rescue and reveals a whole lot more. Not only is he part of a society that hunts otherworldly creatures…she is too. And she is being targeted by a force bigger and darker than anything she ever imagined. Despite her death dream, Selena is not going to give up easy, especially when she discovers that Dillan might not actually hate her after all. (via Goodreads)

Holy moly. That ending. Is it even legal to end a novel like that? Kate must have smiled like an evil witch after writing that one. I kept on looking for the next scene but all I got was Acknowledgements. Way for a cliffhanger.
Things I liked:
1. World-building.
It's not everyday you get to be lost in the town of Newcastle. Mysterious, eerie feel, crazy happenings. You know something was up with it yet you can't pinpoint what it was. You think everything was normal until some things happened. And even though it was a little crazy in here, you still want to live in it. I gave up guessing as to the reason why the town had that aura and when it was revealed at the end, it totally made sense.
2. Illumenari.
The idea of them making sure that everything is balanced between the humans and the supernaturals was practically attractive (did I just really used that word). Whether you're an Arbiter, Guardian, Legacy or Council, you're doing a great job in maintaining order and who doesn't love peace, right? And I don't know but they just sound and look so bad-ass when fighting and doing their designated jobs.
3. Romance.
It's not the love-at-first-sight thing but Selena and Dillan definitely had that literal shock-at-first-sight force. So they basically got so interested with each other even though they kept on pissing each other off. I enjoyed how they showed their affection for each other. Sweet and funny at the same time. Not so mushy-mushy.
4. Humor.
I don't know with you guys but I enjoyed this book so much because of the characters' humor. All of them had a funny side so there weren't dull or boring moments. I smiled and laughed a lot. Period.
5. Mystery.
What more can I say? Mystery itself is enough.
6. Minor Characters.
Not that I do not love Selena and Dillan but the minor characters absolutely helped in making this novel a bit more enjoyable and entertaining. I personally liked Kyle and Sebastian. Both characters had big roles in the novel and I'm pretty sure even in the next book.
Things I didn't like that much:
1. Pacing.
The story started off as not-so-slow and not-so-fast but as the story went on, it slowly crept through its mysteries. I wasn't bored. But it was a little slow for me. Good thing the humor kept me up.
2. Selena's naiveness.
Can I just say that Selena was a bit passive for a female main character? Fine, she was all brave in doing things but why in the years she grew up being a dreamer, she never, even for once, asked her grandparents why on earth she can do that? They brought her up anyway. Or ask her friend to search it in the internet for her? Just weird that she didn't get that curious. Maybe she was afraid that it'll get out but there are many ways to investigate. Also, it was kinda weird that she somehow immediately believed what anyone told her. Yes, she asked questions but the thing was, she just kept on receiving and receiving everything she was told. I don't know if her being naive was a good or bad thing but it bothered me a little.
In the end, the overall impact of the novel won over my dislikes. I enjoyed it and I seriously cannot wait for the next book because the ending was so, well, read it for yourself.
Til Death is an entertaining, mysterious and funny novel. If you want a light read, definitely try this one. You'll smile and laugh in no time with a bonus of mystery and some action.

About the Author
When Kate Evangelista was told she had a knack for writing stories, she did the next best thing: entered medical school. After realizing she wasn't going to be the next Doogie Howser, M.D., Kate wandered into the Literature department of her university and never looked back. Today, she is in possession of a piece of paper that says to the world she owns a Literature degree. To make matters worse, she took Master's courses in creative writing. In the end, she realized to be a writer, none of what she had mattered. What really mattered? Writing. Plain and simple, honest to God, sitting in front of her computer, writing.
