Emilia King is entering her senior year at Santa Barbara University. For the past three years, she lived in the library – doing what she knows best – focusing on her studies and forgetting her past…a past that has forever changed her life. But this year marks a new beginning…

Logan Prescott is not only the hottest guy on campus, he’s heir to a billionaire hotel fortune. Emilia knows he’s trouble and should stay clear of him. But his notorious good looks and piercing blue eyes make him simply irresistible – especially when he’s quoting her favorite literary works.

Intrigued by Emilia’s innocence and resistance to his charm, Logan discovers she’s a challenge he simply can’t resist. Getting involved with him is dangerous, but running from him may be impossible. (via Goodreads)

This was pretty long in my Kindle. I swear I thought I'll never finish it. But hey, don't be discouraged by the length of a novel.

Despite the fact that it's pretty long, I was never bored. Not a single moment. It was never dragging. It was entertaining all throughout. Even if there's a lot of cliche. Broken girl. Rich playboy guy. You know, it's common. But the emotions of the characters were given more attention. That's why this won't fail to make you fall in love with it and break your heart. At the same time.

The relationship of Emilia and Logan is one thing I loved about this. It's pretty much love at first sight. But they weren't the type to just dig in, you know? They really did make their way to be together. They're just so sweet. But I hate what Logan did at the end although I was waiting for something like that to happen since that's the only thing that will actually break them apart, right?

Both Emilia and Logan had troubled past. Emilia's on the painful side while Logan's on the reckless side. It was really natural for Emilia to be like that especially with what she experienced. The truth about her past wasn't revealed till the end but I had that guess in my mind because of the way she was when she and Logan were together. It was pretty much seen on her body reactions. As for Logan, it was obvious with his family setting. Despite their differences, I admire how they were able to find their way into love. Or not. Because of the ending.

Somehow, I find it odd that I didn't get to know Logan when he wasn't with Emilia. What's he doing or stuff. It's just weird in some ways. I know things about him but when he's not with Emilia, it's like he doesn't exist in the book! I know, just weird. But that's how I felt anyway.

What bugged me was that it was so long I thought this was a stand-alone. Given its length, I thought everything will be tackled and resolved till the end. But no, it was only in the end that something heart-pounding happened. I felt like it wasn't even an ending. Like it was just cut off in the middle or something. I promise you. I want to punch Logan. Though really, I won't blame him. I'm not defending him either. But the thing is, old habits are hard to break. Especially if you have a lot of temptations around you. I just wish that Emilia have told him the truth. Maybe that wouldn't have happened, right?

But then, falling in love has a lot of risks. One is giving the other person a permission to break your heart. And what's love if it's not to be worked hard for? I'm pretty sure Emilia and Logan will find their way back into love on the sequel. If not, then I'm doomed.

Running from Romeo is a great contemporary romance read. Despite the cliches, you'll enjoy it more than you think you will because of the writing style. Raw emotions, swoony moments and trust issues all in one. Will definitely read the sequel!
